Rolex Explorer I 114270 2003

The Explorer I has been produced for well over 50 years and has therefore seen numerous updates to the model. The 114270 was introduced in the early 2000’s and benefitted from several updates from the 14270. These included a revised calibre movement to the 3130, solid end links to the bracelet, removal of the holes in the shoulder of the case and the introduction of Super Luminova to the dial

The model is housed in a 36mm case with smooth polished bezel and accompanied with an oyster bracelet and folding clasp. The striking black dial features applied white gold hour markers with arabic quarters and classic Mercedes hands. The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal glass and is all powered by the calibre 3000 automatic movement.

The Rolex Explorer I is a classic sports watch with a fantastic heritage. With a 36mm case the 114270 is a contrast to the larger cases of the steel sports collection. The watch manages to combine a sports look with a slimmer more refine look.
